Wellness Worker in Western Wisconsin

Grassroots Wellness Comprehensive Community Services

Wellness Workers/Peer Supporters of the Grassroots Wellness CCS Program provide an array of services to adult peers in a one-to-one setting. Peer supporters are paired with compatible service recipients based on experience, belief system, training and more, in order to work towards goals as explained in the individual’s wellness and recovery action plan (WRAP).

Non-certified Peer Supporters/Wellness Workers can be anyone with a background in health and wellness and/or lived experience of various crises related to mental health or substance use. Paid training Provided. Students in social services, psychology and other health-related fields encouraged to apply!

About Comprehensive Community Services

Grassroots Wellness provides one-to-one wellness and recovery peer support through Comprehensive Community Services (CCS). We are an extension of Grassroots Empowerment Project, a statewide wellness non-profit organization. Our office is located in Menomonie, Wisconsin and we provide services to recipients living in several western Wisconsin counties.

Job requirements

Please see the state accepted list of education or professions qualifying to provide CCS services here (DHS 36.10(2)(g)). Applicants without these minimum state requirements may still be considered for specific services.

  • Must attend/complete 40 hours of paid training in the first 12 months of assignment.  At least 16 – 20 hours of specific training are required prior to service assignment.
  • Must have lived experience with addiction, mental health, or other crisis, with reliable references.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance and be willing to travel up to 1.5 hours one way to appointments and meetings.
  • Adult 18+ with High School diploma or higher.
  • Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week including drive time.
  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines. Must be technically proficient and able to communicate via email and keep succinct notes and records.
  • Applicants must pass background check.

Certified Peer Support Specialist certification, HIPAA compliance and WRAP training a plus. Some knowledge of peer support model required. Background in human service-related field helpful.
